- The
Environment
- Approximately 30
years ago Australian cars were adapted to run on LPG and its economic
and environmental benefits were widely recognized.
Motor Vehicles are responsible for over 1/4 of Australia's total emissions
of carbon dioxide (CO2) - have long been identified as a major source
of Pollution, emitting noxious chemicals that cost Australians billions
of dollars each year in health care and halt productivity.
Intensive research around the world has shown that some alternative
fuels such as LPG offer an immediate reduction in CO2 emissions of up
to 20% compared with other emissions of an equivalent petrol powered
car. This significantly reduces greenhouse emissions (global warming
gases).
Extensive surveys have clearly shown that our quality and the impact
of motor vehicle pollution is the most important environmental issue
for people living in Australian Cities.
- Another characteristic that must be taken into consideration is
that LPG operates much more cleanly than Petrol, especially when
cold. Considering that most vehicles in cities and homes are often
used for very short journeys, this can be a major factor in reducing
real world emissions.
